This is the wedding photography blog for Melbourne based photographer Brent Lukey.

Brent combines a documentary and editorial style capturing classic, natural moments without making the day feel like a photo shoot.

He will travel anywhere, but mostly gets about Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, and Geelong.

You can contact Brent on 0427 483 836 and look at more work at his web sites.

Emily and Aaron's wedding - St Monica's Church, Moonee Ponds and Ascot House, Ascot Vale.

Queen's Park in Moonee Ponds might be the busiest wedding garden in Melbourne, only rivaled by the Treasury Gardens in the city. On any given Saturday afternoon the place is full of wedding parties and photographers. The challenge for me when working in such cliche rich territory is to find something fresh to shoot. For Emily and Aaron's wedding I became very interested in the soft light by the lake and some strong back light on a path - as is so often the case it's the light that dictates where to position the couple and the camera.

For some detail of the day, the photography started at the Crown Metropol Hotel where Emily dressed, followed by the ceremony at St Monica's Catholic Church in Moonee Ponds. We then proceeded down the road to Queen's Park and finally the reception at Ascot House. I like the joy and intimacy in the photos. I'd also like the thank my mate Rodney Dekker for helping out on the this shoot.
