This is the wedding photography blog for Melbourne based photographer Brent Lukey.

Brent combines a documentary and editorial style capturing classic, natural moments without making the day feel like a photo shoot.

He will travel anywhere, but mostly gets about Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, and Geelong.

You can contact Brent on 0427 483 836 and look at more work at his web sites.

National Photographic Portrait Prize 2012

The National Portrait Gallery in Canberra is calling for entries to the The National Photographic Portrait Prize 2012. If you make the short list your work will be exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery from 16 March to 20 May 2012 and tour to selected venues throughout 2012. If that's not enough the winner of the most outstanding photographic portrait receives $25,000. Pretty cool huh.

melbourne weddings - the bride #1

All weddings are different. This is rule number one in our approach to wedding photography. We follow this philosophy because a 'cookie cutter' look doesn't really respect the individuality of the couple. This is true of posing a bride, or not posing a bride - as what works for one person does not necessarily work for another. We take great care on the wedding day to keep the day moving, allowing the bride and groom to feel relaxed and not get caught up in poses. Here's a selection of bride shots that we love.
