This is the wedding photography blog for Melbourne based photographer Brent Lukey.

Brent combines a documentary and editorial style capturing classic, natural moments without making the day feel like a photo shoot.

He will travel anywhere, but mostly gets about Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, and Geelong.

Ellen and Paul's wedding - Brighton Baths, Brighton.

I love the couples and families I work for, and I'd worked with Paul's family before so I knew this wedding would be a blast. Early on there were thoughts of having the wedding in Hawaii but eventually the Brighton Baths were chosen. Beach was the key theme for the day and rain was in the forecast but it held off. While the ominous cloud and dull light doesn't make for that popular, carefree and sun-loving modern Australian bride look, it does deliver a great mood.

After the beach we headed toward the pier with an interest in getting a Melbourne skyline shot. The bridal party helped keep Ellen and Paul relaxed while I tested the set up. When ready I asked them to look at each other, think about the day, and then kiss. Natural and passionate ... nice one guys.

If any one is thinking of getting married in Hawaii I'd love to go.
