This is the wedding photography blog for Melbourne based photographer Brent Lukey.

Brent combines a documentary and editorial style capturing classic, natural moments without making the day feel like a photo shoot.

He will travel anywhere, but mostly gets about Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, and Geelong.

Anne and David - a cocktail party on The Prince Deck.

There are wedding traditions that we all know, some are sweet - like the kiss, and some are a little tired - like cutting the cake. Then there are personal, more subtle traditions that many bring to the wedding day, the shared small thing - like the Dior brooch your mother wore at her wedding, or the handed down heirloom - such as the vintage watch from your grandfather, or one of my favourites, the oddball re-creation of the 'not-quite-right' family photo from 20 years ago, and then there is the first-date-inspired, celebratory cocktail - in this case the mojito, 110 of them! A party starter for every guest on a balmy night in St Kilda and a nod to the first drinks Anne and David shared on their first date in Darwin. A great way to start a relationship, and a great way to start a party, or just a great drink for no reason at all. I might go and muddle one together right now. Cheers!

The Mojito!
Fresh mint leaves
Fresh lime
A little sugar
Ice cubes
White rum
Soda water

'Muddle' together the mint, sugar and lime in a glass with a rolling pin, add the ice, add the rum, add the soda water. Drink. Put on some Cuban music, or rock out with Guns and Roses (obscure sure, but I'll explain later).
