This is the wedding photography blog for Melbourne based photographer Brent Lukey.

Brent combines a documentary and editorial style capturing classic, natural moments without making the day feel like a photo shoot.

He will travel anywhere, but mostly gets about Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, and Geelong.

You can contact Brent on 0427 483 836 and look at more work at his web sites.

Feature Wedding - Candice and Todd, Gardens House, RBG and The Prince Deck, St Kilda.

Take a look at Candice and Todd's very special Melbourne wedding from November last year. The dress alone is stunning (my daughters' favourite so far) but the entire day was quite remarkable - not to mention that I found a car park right out the front of the Royal Botanical Gardens, a minor miracle. View it here - Feature Wedding - Candice and Todd, Gardens House, RBG and The Prince Deck, St Kilda.

... because there's more to the day - All Smiles, Docklands.

Wedding photography trends come and go, but since I started shooting weddings in 2002 there's one element to my style that has not changed - shoot great, natural portraits! Because there's more to the day than the bride and groom. Here's a selection from a recent wedding at Melbourne Museum and All Smiles at Docklands. Oh, the band at this party absolutely groove, seek them out - Phoebe and the Night Creatures.

The bridal party, the couple and the kombi van - Clyde Park, Bannockburn.

It looks carefree, but we are under pressure, there is no time left and I'm hanging off the back of a 4WD trying to get a better angle while shooting with one hand. Yet for all this madness, the energy is great, the location is singing to me, the kombi van breaks up the landscape and the bridal party are full of spirit and ideas and want to have fun. We work together and get inspired shots before hightailing back to the reception for footy songs, laughter, passionate speeches, tears and dancing.
