This is the wedding photography blog for Melbourne based photographer Brent Lukey.

Brent combines a documentary and editorial style capturing classic, natural moments without making the day feel like a photo shoot.

He will travel anywhere, but mostly gets about Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, and Geelong.

You can contact Brent on 0427 483 836 and look at more work at his web sites.

'Laura in bridal gown with mirror' - Sunday afternoon in Williamstown.

A nice bedroom, wedding items abound, a little cluttered, not much floor space really, there's an amazing mirror, a large softly furnished window, and it's full of light. It's going to look great! All I have to do is keep the bride calm and enhance the classic look, Laura is generous with me.

When I arrive at the bride's house, I never know what I will walk into, and I'm not the kind of photographer who wants to create a set, nor do I arrive with preconceived shots in mind. I prefer to keep it natural, try to avoid disturbing the house too much, and most importantly allow the people to look their best selves. Nobody wants to look like they came out of a catalogue.

Girt by Sea - a documentary photographer's view of Australia.

Returned from Broome, shot a few weddings, a couple of portraits, stills on a feature film, had a baby (girl number 3!) and purchased some smashing new red sneakers and an ice cream machine. That's just November and December. 2014 was a full on year for me (us) is so many ways.

Not busy enough, I have also launched a new web site to show my documentary photography called 'Girt by Sea'. A personal view of Australia - people, landscape and culture - a growing collection of more than 10 years work, seen only occasionally in a book, magazine, newspaper or exhibition. I invite you to take a look and continue to visit as the site grows each week.

Great love for 2015.
