This is the wedding photography blog for Melbourne based photographer Brent Lukey.

Brent combines a documentary and editorial style capturing classic, natural moments without making the day feel like a photo shoot.

He will travel anywhere, but mostly gets about Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, and Geelong.

Sonja and Dan's wedding - Coolart, Somers and The Heritage, Balnarring.

The Mornington Peninsula is in my heart, it's where I grew up and no matter how far I try to move away it still draws me in. There are some things you can't escape and a secondary schooling at Rosebud High is one of them. I've treasured memories of these years - the Boneo Road share house, home brew, Thursday night Matches Disco at the Rosebud Hotel, Love Shack, Queen's A Night at the Opera album, Cold Chisel's East, Van Halen, Hoodoo Gurus, The Angels, Shane's XD, Manny's XU1, Hilly's love of Stevie Ray Vaughan and the guitar, Fridays at The Conti, Sunday dinner at the Heng Loong chinese, a sneaky trip to Launceston, and a sneaky trip to Warnambool that perhaps I'd prefer to forget, camping, drinking, the Dava, the Portsea, my Econovan with the couch in the back, sausage casserole, The Waterfront Cafe, Searly, Shane, Robyn, Shell, Manny, Stan, Hilly, Dan, Roger, Wally, Dougie, Andy, Narelle, Erica ... I hope I didn't forget anyone.

So what a buzz, what a sensational call it was from my mate Daniel, he's getting married and could I take the photos. Yes. I've had fun with work this year and this wedding was a highlight. To see my old mates and to see that they are doing pretty well. To share the day with Dan, Sonja and their family, and to document a new chapter in their lives with my photographs. Thanks. Looking forward to seeing you more often.
