This is the wedding photography blog for Melbourne based photographer Brent Lukey.

Brent combines a documentary and editorial style capturing classic, natural moments without making the day feel like a photo shoot.

He will travel anywhere, but mostly gets about Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, and Geelong.

Michelle and Robert's wedding - At The Heads, Barwon Heads.

What I care about, what I look for at a wedding is the connections between people. I'm searching for beautiful, truthful moments with character. Some pretty details are also important, and help sell magazines, but unless you made them yourself they're mostly puff, off the shelf and over stylised. For every detail shot I think you will want 30 great (and maybe not so great) photos of people. This was highlighted for me recently when I shot a friend's wedding, while editing the photos I realised how much my mates meant to me, we have shared life together - a unique thing in a cookie cutter world. The people photos will stay classic and important well after the details look embarrassingly out of fashion. Now to Michelle and Rob's wild wedding at Barwon Heads. Cheers!
