Bride and Grandmother - Vue Grand, Queenscliff.

Sitting here finishing the edit on an emotionally charged wedding, with incredibly romantic painterly images (like the one below), listening to Louis Armstrong, and at the same time dealing with the loss yesterday of a young and close family member who will be greatly missed in our family. As my daughter of 6 said last night 'dad, it's good we have some photos to remember with'. Vale K.

Emerald PAVE Photographic Competition 2013

It was a great pleasure to open and judge the Emerald PAVE Photography Competition earlier today. The overall theme for the exhibition was 'light' and the photographs were of a high standard and from many age groups. I was particularly drawn to three images that used the theme well, intrigued me and demonstrated a different perspective. The prize winners were - 3rd place Leslie Fielder for the work 'Humayan's Tomb', 2nd place Judi Roberts for 'Reflecting - Emerald', and 1st prize to Paul Bianco (pictured below) for 'Early Morning Footy at Mt Evelyn'. The youth prize went to Joe Blair for 'Polarity'. For more information about the Emerald PAVE Festival go here - pave.org.au

Sarah and Mark's wedding - Carousel, Albert Park.

Sarah and Mark had an elegant black and white themed wedding at Carousel in Melbourne's Albert Park - Carousel (or Food and Desire) are always great to work with. Sarah arranged the Mustang as a surprise for Mark - a nice idea. After the ceremony, with very little time, we took a walk around the venue, found the nice light, avoided the Grand Prix bunting and made some great shots with the bridal party and couple who were fun and energetic - it goes without saying that bringing your best, fun, motivated self to the wedding day will really stand out in the photos. The entertainment and MC duties were performed by Paris and Co who are brilliant entertainers, great songs, singing, dancing, and interaction - a pleasure to see them at work and having fun. Oh, and also a big thanks to my second photographer Michelle for her awesome work.
