This is the wedding photography blog for Melbourne based photographer Brent Lukey.

Brent combines a documentary and editorial style capturing classic, natural moments without making the day feel like a photo shoot.

He will travel anywhere, but mostly gets about Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula, and Geelong.

You can contact Brent on 0427 483 836 and look at more work at his web sites.

interiors ... workflow ... eurovision

Immersed in Lightroom trying to improve my workflow PB ... delivered school photo work ... sorting out forthcoming shoots ... watching the weather ... worried about a tree falling down in my backyard ... listening to Serge Gainsbourg and watching Eric Rohmer films to chill out ... maybe drinking too much wine ... excited about forthcoming Eurovision ... editing a beautiful wedding from a few weeks ago and got distracted by these interiors shot during that wedding.

Katie and Luke's wedding - Sault, Daylesford.

In the days leading up to Katie and Luke's wedding their family and friends went into a hydrangea gathering frenzy. As a result, the flowers decorating the tables (and the tea cups) came from the gardens of those close to them - a beautiful gesture giving another dimension to the wedding day. The other gardens to feature in this intimate wedding are the spectacular lavender fields of Sault in Daylesford.

goodbye to the aipp

Last year I was disillusioned with the Australian Institute of Photography, better known as the AIPP. This year I’ve decided not to renew my membership as an accredited photographer. There are all kinds of reasons for this, but overall I think the organisation supports a questionable aesthetic, and moreover, doesn't seem to represent the diversity of photographers or photography well - especially in the fields of photojournalism, art, documentary and editorial. It’s not really my scene, but I’ve always been on the punk side of things.
